Google Drive

Used to share files and documents and also to give access to footage for editing outside the studio.

Go to Google Drive Request Access

YSTV has two Google Shared Drives which can be shared with members’ York Google account. One is a read-only copy of our file storage server which is usually available in the studio. This gives access to raw footage and edits and is mainly used by editors while they are not able to use the edis PCs in the studio. The second is mainly for documents and information and you can find things like branding and logos, the production teaching spreadsheet and more there.

Once you have submitted the access form (link above) with your York account, a member of the computing or admin team will process it, usually within 1-3 days. If you need a faster response, feel free to message one of the committee or post in #general or #computing on Slack.

When you go to Google Drive and sign in with your York account, on the left-hand side, go to ‘Shared drives’. In there, you will see ‘YSTV’ - the document share, and ‘YSTV Drives’ - the file share. In these, you should find the content organised by section, or be able to use the search to find what you’re looking for. As always, if you are struggling or can’t find something, please let us know!
